Former ABC Radio Networks SVP/Programming John McConnell has partnered with the Elvis Duran Group (EDG) to its new radio syndication division. McConnell, based in NYC, will work with EDG’s CEO and talent agent David Katz to develop content and talent for radio syndication and digital distribution. Launched in 2007, EDG is an entertainment company owned by nationally syndicated morning man Elvis Duran and Katz. The company focuses on creating content for radio, television, broadband, internet, theater and film.

“John’s integrity, credibility and talent are of the highest order, which makes him the ideal person to guide our vision of creating and delivering exceptional programming,” said Katz. “We’re honored and humbled to have him join the Elvis Duran Group.”

“I have been fortunate to work with the best of the best in radio and Elvis is at the top of the list,” says McConnell. “David and I have done a number of very successful deals together so I’m excited to come on board to help take the company to the next level.”

In addition to partnering with EDG, McConnell continues his work for McConnell Media, LLC, his traditional and new media consultancy formed in January, 2009, that focuses on content and talent development. In that capacity, he’s a founder and senior executive at Famos, LLC, a start up digital technology company which develops new commerce systems for social media.
