Just in time for the Olympics


Raycom signed on WMBF-TV Friday in the Myrtle Beach-Florence, SC market, getting the new NBC affiliate on the air just in time to air the 2008 Summer Olympics from Beijing. WMBF is digital-only on Channel 32 and fired up in Nielsen’s 103rd DMA with a brand new all-digital studio. As the market’s NBC affiliate, it has replaced out-of-market signals from WIS-TV Columbia, SC and WECT-TV Wilmington, NC on cable systems in the Myrtle Beach-Florence market. Both WIS and WECT are also owned by Raycom.
