Nickelodeon is betting on Victoria Justice to be the next teen idol. The Viacom cable network has signed the 15-year-old actress to an overall talent and music deal in partnership with Sony BMG Music Entertainment. They will be developing a new comedy series as a starring vehicle for Justice, who previously co-starred in “Zoey 101.”

“Victoria is a rare kind of actress. She’s beautiful, yet takes a fearless approach to acting. Kids loved her on Zoey 101 because she could boldly take a pie in the face or just as easily tackle a dramatic scene. It is this versatility combined with her musical talent and real-girl qualities that make her someone we are excited about,” said Paula Kaplan, Executive Vice President, Talent and West Coast General Manager, Nickelodeon.

“Victoria is the real deal. Besides her acting skills which are already well-known to her fans, she has a terrific recording voice. When she steps up to the mic, her personality shines through,” said Jay Landers, Sr. VP, Columbia Records.

Although still a teenager, Justice has an extensive Hollywood resume. It began when she appeared in an Ovaltine commercial at age eight.
