Justices ask tough questions at Aereo oral arguments

U.S. Supreme CourtThe Supreme Court justices, presiding over the high-stakes legal battle between broadcasters and online broadcast streaming provider Aereo, questioned whether Aereo complies with U.S. copyright law because it uses the broadcasters’ programming without permission. Aereo lawyer David Frederick started off his presentation with, “this is a reproduction rights issue masquerading as a public performance case.” The Justices didn’t seem convinced, according to reports.
