SoldIt’s not the kind of deal you want to make, but it is definitely a KIND of deal – in fact, the stations being sold include KIND-AM, KIND-FM and one other in a transaction that involved the District Court for Tulsa County in Kansas.

KIND-AM is licensed to Independence KS, as is KBIK-FM, the aforementioned other station. KIND-FM is licensed to Elk City KS.

The seller is David Rhoads, the court appointed receiver for Tallgrass Broadcasting Inc.

The buyer is Independence Media LLC, headed by Fred and Barbara White.

The price will be $200K, with $50K put down as earnest money and the remainder payable in cash at closing.

The stations form a local cluster in and around Independence, which is in unrated territory in the southeastern corner of the state.

KIND-AM is a Class D on 1010 kHz with 250 W-D, 32-W-N, ND

KIND-FM is a Class A on 94.9 MHz with 6 kW @ 272’

KBIK-FM is a Class C3 on 102.9 MHz with 25 kW @ 272’
