KBCOHeritage AAA KBCO-FM Boulder/Denver and Clear Channel Communities, the community engagement brand of CCME announced details of why the station was named a finalist for the NAB Crystal Radio Awards, which honor media outlets that have gone above and beyond expectations in serving their local communities.

In 2013 KBCO presented Colorado Rising, a 1STBANK Center concert featuring a live performance by Dave Matthews to benefit local flood relief. The event raised $650,000 to support victims of the floods that devastated Colorado. KBCO also continues to support The Food Bank of the Rockies and Boulder County AIDS Project with proceeds from the sales of its 25th Anniversary KBCO Studio C, a benefit compilation CD that has raised more than $2 million for local nonprofits.

“KBCO supports a wide variety of nonprofits that make the Denver/Boulder metro area a better place to live,” said PD Scott Arbough.  “We are thrilled to be honored by the NAB as a finalist for the Crystal Radio Awards and will continue to provide opportunities for KBCO listeners to join our efforts to give back.”

The NAB Crystal Radio Award winners will be announced during the Radio Luncheon on 4/8 at the Las Vegas Hotel. The event will be sponsored by ASCAP and be part of the 2014 NAB Show.
