Hero Broadcasting, O&O of full-power KBEH-DT 63 Los Angeles, an MTV Tr3s affiliate, announced it has completed the installation of its new, full-power digital transmitter and antenna and has turned on its enhanced one megawatt, free over-the-air broadcast signal; the highest authorized broadcast power allowed by the FCC.

The digital transmitter and antenna upgrade, installed on Los Angeles’ existing Mt. Harvard / Mt. Wilson antenna farm, is expected to significantly generate more viewer tune-in to KBEH’s programming. The enhanced digital signal will increase the station’s over-the-air coverage in all key demos in the Los Angeles DMA – including a greater footprint within the San Bernardino and Orange counties.

“With KBEH’s increase in digital broadcast strength, the station now joins the L.A. broadcast community’s list of most powerful broadcast stations in the Los Angeles DMA,” says Bob Behar, President and CEO of Hero Broadcasting. “The ability to broadcast such a strong signal in the number one Hispanic DMA establishes KBEH among Los Angeles’ Hispanic broadcast-coverage leaders.”

Viewers who utilize a digital television or digital converter box for over-the-air reception can receive KBEH’s signal on channel 63.1. Aside from its free, over-the-air coverage, KBEH’s digital signal is also distributed to subscribers of cable and satellite service.
