CBS Radio’s Newsradio 1010 KDKA-AM Pittsburgh has named veteran KDKA personality Mike Pintek to host weekdays 12:00 Noon-3:00 pm. Pintek fills the vacancy left by the late Fred Honsberger. His appointment is effective immediately.

With the move, Pintek – who started at KDKA in 1982 as a news anchor/reporter – has now served in every daypart on the station.

“I’m delighted to have Mike take over KDKA’s midday time slot,” said Michael Young, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, CBS Radio Pittsburgh. “Mike is passionate about the news and issues that affect our listening area, and very much enjoys talking about them with the KDKA audience.”

Pintek has been substituting in the 12:00 Noon-3:00 pm slot for several weeks. He’d most recently been heard 6-10 pm during “Pintek Tonight.” The station will soon announce plans for the evening slot.
