Cox Media Group San Antonio has named Keith its new Program Director for KISS-FM, effective 6/24. Hastings has worked for some of the most iconic brands in several variations of the rock format. He spent 21 years in total as a Program Director for Saga Communications in markets including Boston and Springfield, Mass., and Milwaukee, Wis. Keith’s career as a rock programmer spans four decades with his most recent role as Program Director at Greater Media’s WCSX in Detroit.
“KISS is one of the legendary rock brands in the nation and I’m excited to have one of the best rock programmers in Keith Hastings take the station to the next level,” said Dan Lawrie, CMG San Antonio VP and Market Manager. “Keith brings strong leadership, creativity and the ability to develop great talent; assets that will help grow The Billy Madison Show and the station as a whole.”

Worked there is early 70’s and it’s like any large market, audience is deversivied in background. But they all want to have FUN, Fun DJ’s, Fun Jingle package, FUN promotions with air staff getting out of the studio and doing lots of remotes for any excuse. Grand Opening, Business Anniversary,
car shows, Miss River Walk contest, whatever. dress em up and kick them out of the studio. It was a fun city and a good radio market back then. You’ll do great. Best wishes,
