The suspension of MSNBC pundit Keith Olbermann will be brief. Put on notice by his network Friday 11/5/10 for violating NBC News policy by contributing to political campaigns without prior permission, he was suspended without pay, he will be back on the job as usual Tuesday 11/9/10.

Olbermann had kicked in the maximum $2.4K personal donation to the Democratic senatorial candidate in Kentucky and two congressional candidates in Arizona.

MSNBC President Phil Griffin said, “I have determined that suspending Keith through and including Monday night’s program is an appropriate punishment for his violation of our policy. We look forward to having him back on the air Tuesday night.”

Olbermann sent out a love note to his fans via Twitter following the announcement, saying, “Greetings From Exile! A quick, overwhelmed, stunned THANK YOU for support that feels like a global hug & obviously left me tweetless XO.”
