Former FCC Chairman Bill Kennard was officially sworn in as the United States Representative to the European Union on Friday 12/11/09. Kennard, who served as FCC Chair under Bill Clinton and left upon the election of George W. Bush, had been serving on the board of the New York Times, a position he has resigned from. His current mission carries the rank of ambassador. He was appointed by Barack Obama and confirmed to the post by the Senate back in November.
