Kentucky low-power duo getting religion

Louisville TV Licenses Inc. is divesting its two LPTVs related to full-power WBKI-TV (CW) and putting some cash in the corporate coffers. The new owner is a not-for-profit religious group.

Word of God Fellowship Inc. is paying $175,000 for WBKI-CA, a Class A on Channel 28, and “digital companion station” WBKI-LD on Channel 34. Both are licensed to Louisville. No doubt new calls will be in order, since Louisville TV Licenses will retain full-power WBKI-TV, its CW affiliate licensed to Campbellsville, KY in the Louisville market.

Closing of this sale, which was brokered by CobbCorp, is to follow consummation of the previously announced transfer of control of WBKI and two other full-power stations, with Barbara Laurence’s Pegasus Minority Media acquiring a 55% stake.
