Following his pivotal role in the IPG-led pitch to win the consolidated media business of MillerCoors, and the formation of the brewer’s new dedicated MC Media unit, Initiative has promoted Kevin Collins to Senior Vice President, Director, National Broadcast, the media, marketing and digital company’s US President Tim Spengler announced.
“Kevin knows more about beer and sports than anybody I’ve ever met,” Spengler, who also serves as Chairman of MC Media, said. “He was intimately involved in the MillerCoors review that started last July, and has worked on the legacy Coors brands for more than 13 years. When we won the 2008 NFL Broadcast business for MillerCoors, Kevin was the quarterback, and he was a key player in putting the entire account in the win column.”
Previously Vice President, Associate Director, National Broadcast, Collins will lead buying duties for the MillerCoors business, operating under the new stand-alone MC Media agency umbrella. He will also take a larger role for all Initiative sports TV negotiations.
Additionally, Dan Cohn has been promoted to Vice President, Director, National Broadcast, assisting Collins on the MillerCoors brands through MC Media. Cohn joined Initiative two years ago from GM Planworks, where he was involved in all of GM’s sports sponsorships.
“Kevin and Dan are two of the many talented people who will help drive Initiative’s future success through hard work and innovative thinking, resulting in great things for our clients. I am so happy for them,” Spengler said.
