Key CP going to Miami AM owner

An FM-to-be will be partnering with an up-and-running AM once a deal for WURN-FM comes to a conclusion. But although it already has similar calls to WURN(AM), the stations will be serving different geographical areas.

The seller of the station is Eden Holding Company, headed by Adib Eden. He won the right to the CP in an FCC auction with a gross bid of $200K, adjusted down to a net of $150K thanks to a 25% bidding credit.

The credit is expected to not be a factor, due to the limited holdings of buyer Actualidad 95.3FM Licensee LLC, headed by Jorge A. Gonzalez. Actualidad’s only station is the aforementioned WURN(AM) serving the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood FL market from its city of license Kendall FL.

The price for the station is just a bit more than what Eden bid for it – Actualidad will pay $153,485 cash for the station.

WURN-FM is licensed to Key Largo FL. It’s C3 signal is destined for 95.3 MHz with 21 kW @ 361’.

The Spanish programming of the AM is a small factor in the local station ratings, and it gets it out to the public with a Class B facility on 1020 kHz with 8.9 kW-D, 980 W-N, DA2.
