KFDI-FM Wichita will host a Food & Funds Drive this week to benefit the Laid-Off Workers Center. “Approximately 13,000 workers have been laid off in the Wichita area, so the need is enormous,” said Beverlee Brannigan, KFDI PD and operations manager for Journal Broadcast Group – Wichita. “These are our friends, our neighbors, our families. We want to do our part to help ease some of their burden.

The collection of non-perishable food and monetary donations are being held from noon on Thursday, June 4 through 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 5 in the parking lot of Dillons Marketplace at Central and Rock Road.

Every bit of food and every dollar collected during the KFDI Food & Funds Drive will go directly to laid off workers in Sedgwick, Butler and Sumner counties through the United Way of the Plains and Kansas Food bank.
