kfwbKFWB(AM), Los Angeles has been sold.

CBS Radio put the station into a trust handled by ShootingStar Broadcasting President/CEO Diane Sutter in 2011 to remain under the local ownership caps. CBS operated two TV and two stations in L.A.

SEC filings indicate the buyer is Mercury Capital Partners/Principle Broadcasting and the price is $8M.

The Los Angeles Times reports the buyer for the all-sports station airs foreign language programming, meaning the professional sports teams currently on the station would need to find a new home.

KFWB went on the air in 1925; it’s a Class B AM operating from a single tower and broadcasting 5,000 watts on 980 kHz.
