The Financial Exchange with Barry Armstrong, Boston’s only daily business news show on Entercom’s WRKO-AM Boston, announced Kim Carrigan, one of Boston’s most popular and respected television news anchors, will join Barry as co-host of the program, effective immediately.  The show, which airs weekdays from 10 a.m. – Noon EST, is also being renamed to The Financial Exchange with Barry Armstrong & Kim Carrigan.

“Kim is easily one of the most recognized personalities in Boston; with her charm, wit and intelligence she makes a great program even better,” said Bill Cooksey, Program Director at WRKO AM 680.

Carrigan started her career as a News Anchor, Reporter and Producer for WHO-TV, KRCG-TV, KMIZ-TV, and KQTV-TV in St. Louis, Missouri before having successful stints in Boston at WHDH, WBZ/WSBK and WXFT.

Carrigan, an Emmy award winning television news anchor, has been recognized with numerous other awards, including: an Edward R. Murrow Award for “Best Newscast in a Major Market,” a Quest Award as one of five outstanding women who have achieved success in their quest for excellence from the New England Women Business Owners Association, and a Gabrielle Award.  She was also honored with the President’s Award from the Northeast Arc, the organization’s highest honor, for her work on behalf of individuals with disabilities.

“Kim is a tremendous addition to our program,” said Barry Armstrong, host of The Financial Exchange.  “She brings intellect, a historical perspective, and a woman’s point of view to topics that require constant attention and interpretation.”

“I’m so pleased to be part of an established, successful program like The Financial Exchange,” said Carrigan.  “I love that the show is a mix of business news and consumer information.  There is something for everyone.”
