Kimmel strong even in reruns

During the week of October 17, 2011, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live’s week of repeats soared over its most-recent repeat-week performance (w/o 8/29/11) by 31% in Total Viewers to draw its largest repeat audience in nearly 4 years – since w/o 12/3/07. JKL also grew over its prior week of repeats by 31% in Adults 18-49, delivering its best young adult performance during a repeat-week since June 2010 – since w/o 6/7/10. In fact, excluding the NBA Finals-led weeks in June, JKL tied its highest young adult number since December 2007 – since w/o 12/17/07. In addition, JKL was up over the year-ago repeat-week (w/o 10/4/10) by 8% in Total Viewers and by 3% in Adults 18-49.


During the week, ABC’s JKL stood as the #3 late-night talk show in Total Viewers, behind only NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and CBS’ Late Show with David Letterman.

ABC’s JKL (M-F 12am) led NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon (M-F 12:35am) by double-digit margins in both Total Viewers (+19%) and Adults 18-49 (+20%), marking the ABC late-night program’s 2nd consecutive win in Total Viewers over the NBC program. JKL topped Fallon in 4 of the 5 days of the week in viewers (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday) and in all 5 nights of the week in young adults.

ABC’s JKL’s week of repeats outperformed CBS’ The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson’s (M-F 12:35am) week of originals by an impressive 21% in Total Viewers and by 14% in Adults 18-49, leading the CBS late-night program in all 5 weeks of the new season to date in both viewers and young adults. Repeats of JKL led originals of Ferguson every night of the week on both Nielsen measures.
