On 11/15, Portland Rescue Mission’s “Give Hope” Radiothon supported by the Fred Meyer Fund and Stanford’s restaurants will air on Alpha Broadcasting’s  KINK.  The effort will ask the greater Portland community to come together and provide thousands of meals for homeless men, women and children during this holiday season.  The event will be broadcast live from the Bing Lounge, located at the PacWest Center.  $38 a month for two months will feed and care for 40 people this Thanksgiving and Christmas.

“This is the ninth consecutive year we’ve partnered with KINK to share with their listeners the stories of ‘lives changed’ at Portland Rescue Mission and to communicate the on-going need for listeners to help fund our daily breakfast and dinner meal service,” says Eric Bauer, executive director of Portland Rescue Mission.  “The need is especially high during the Thanksgiving season.”

Bauer expects demand for daily meals and other services at the Mission to hit an all-time high this winter season.  “It’s a great opportunity for us to extend a hand of compassion to meet the immediate needs of our hundreds of homeless guests, and ultimately help the many who are interested to break free from destructive addictions like drugs and alcohol.”
