A veteran of the CBS affiliate serving the Constitution State has been chosen to lead MNI Targeted Media, the digital and print advertising business now housed within the Local Media Group arm of Meredith Corp.

Taking the role of EVP for the Meredith division is Klarn DePalma, VP/GM of WFSB-3 in Hartford; Meredith’s CBS, ABC and FOX affiliates in Springfield, Mass.; and Western Mass News.

DePalma has had those responsibilities for 12 years, but has been with WFSB-3 for a quarter-century, where he started as an entry-level sales person.

He also oversaw the Meredith Local Media Group’s national sales teams.

In his new role, DePalma will lead the targeted digital and print advertising business, which joined Meredith’s Local Media Group after the recently completed acquisition of Time Inc.

He reports to Meredith Local Media Group EVP Patrick McCreery, who calls DePalma “an innovative leader who understands the future of this business.”

DePalma serves on the boards of directors of the Television Bureau of Advertising (TVB), Connecticut Broadcasters Association (Past Chairperson), Connecticut Science Center and Channel 3 Kids Camp. He also serves as an overseer for the Bushnell Performing Arts Center.

“I think the two most exciting things about MNI are the people and the technology it develops,” said DePalma. “The proprietary data MNI provides clients for digital campaigns via the Omnipoint System is a game changer. I am looking forward to joining this team that is committed to success in 40 markets across the country.”

Meredith’s Local Media Group includes 17 television stations.
