KUFO morning show adds Marconi

In its continuing commitment to putting live and local talent on the air, Alpha Broadcasting’s KUFO has revamped the morning show with the addition of market veteran Marconi.   The Kidd Chris Show with Marconi made its debut 7/14  on the heritage Portland rock station 101 KUFO with the two personalities announcing their new partnership live on the air.

Marconi has been with KUFO since 2005, most recently holding down the night shift since last October.  This move pairs the two major personalities, along with Porkchop on the sports beat, making KUFO a powerhouse in morning drive radio in Portland.

Kidd Chris has traveled throughout the country over the course of his career, on the radio in Syracuse, Wichita, Sacramento, San Antonio and finally Philadelphia at WYSP where he first hosted afternoon drive in 2005 before being promoted to morning drive two years later on the heritage rock station.  A frequent contributor to the Howard Stern Show, he was one of the few personalities that Howard actually respected and liked.  With the national spotlight of the Stern Show, Kidd Chris quickly became known across the country for his parody songs, prank calls and in studio shenanigans which delighted fans, outraged management and kept everyone on the edge of their seat wondering what he might do next.  He signed on to KUFO on October 29, 2009 where the show can be heard weekdays 6-10am or streaming live online at www.kufo.com

Marconi has been a staple of the Portland radio airwaves since his days on KNRK in 1997.  He came over to KUFO in 2005, under the previous CBS Radio ownership where he ended up hosting afternoon drive until 2008.  Marconi returned to the KUFO airwaves in October of 2009 and is also currently an audio imaging producer and voice over talent.

“This is a rock radio show done the way it should be: LOCAL,” commented KUFO Program Director Ditch.  “While other stations in town pipe in national shows via satellite, we have paired up two incredibly talented guys right here in Portland.  They each bring something different and unique to the show and I can’t wait to see how this evolves over time.  It’s already great!”
