On 6/9, Nielsen Audio announced the Los Angeles market PPMs for May were going to be delayed for an “additional quality control” review. The PPM data for both Week 4 (May 15-21) and the full survey month (April 24-May 21) wasn’t released at the expected time on 6/9. Nielsen notified clients. RBR-TVBR heard the whole thing was over a discrepancy with El Mandril’s (Ricardo Sanchez) ratings. They did jump considerably…in March on KXOS, El Mandril had a 1.8. In April, that was up to 2.6 P6+.
RBR-TVBR reached out to Nielsen for comment on El Mandril and they declined to add anything further than the statement issued they originally issued with the delay announcement to clients: “Nielsen is committed to upholding the highest standards of data integrity.”
Well, now we’ve heard a bit more of what caused the delay and it’s not El Mandril. Said an RBR-TVBR source:
