RaycomRaycom Media president and chief executive officer Paul McTear will retire this June.

He had been with the company since it began in 1997 and has been in his present role since 2001.

SVP Pat LaPlatney, who joined the broadcaster in 2007, will succeed McTear. He came to the company to oversee digital efforts and now also oversees revenue for the company as well.

McTear helped build Raycom into what the company says is the largest privately owned TV station group in the country with 62 stations in 20 states. It employs nearly 5,000 people.

Raycom has also promoted SVP Susana Schuler to EVP, content and operations. Prior to joining Raycom Media in 2006, Schuler was corporate news director for Nexstar Broadcasting Group for nearly 10 years.
