When last we reported on the fate of CHEK-TV Victoria, British Columbia, Canwest Global Communications had said a $2.5 million bid by employees to save the station wasn’t sufficient to stem losses while waiting for the license transfer to be approved. But the station isn’t going dark after all. On Friday, Canwest announced that a local investor group had joined with the employees to buy the station and that the re-worked bid had been accepted.
