FCC NPRM Seeks To ‘Modernize’ Leased Access Rules

The FCC on Thursday (6/7) voted to approve a Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking seeking to update its leased access rules, which require cable operators to set aside channel capacity for commercial use by unaffiliated video programmers.


This would put an official end to a matter that has lasted for a decade, and involves a Federal appeals court stay of a Commission Order from 2008.
