Mediaedge:cia (MEC) North America CEO Lee Doyle is stepping down as CEO of North America for MEC.  After 12 years with the agency, Lee has decided to take a new direction in his career within GroupM/WPP. That new role is t/b/a. Charles Courtier, MEC Global CEO, will take management responsibility for MEC NA operations until the new CEO is on-board.  He will be supported by the North American leadership team, put in place by Lee and Rob Norman, CEO for GroupM North America:

–       Marla Kaplowitz, President, US Clients
–       Eamonn Store, President, Global Solutions
–       Dennis Donlin, President, Team AT&T
–       Mark Sanders, Chief Financial Officer
–       Michele Pauchuk, President MEC Canada

Says Courtier: “Lee has been hugely influential at MEC as CEO for the last four years, and since he joined the company in 1999.  Under his tenure the agency has grown by 40%, a stunning achievement.  But it’s not goodbye – Lee is committed to the Group and vice versa – we will see him in a new role soon.”

This year MEC lost Activision and Pizza Hut. As noted above, former GM Planworks President was tapped from Medaibrands to handle the AT&T account–this as it proceeds with its acquisition of T-Mobile.
