A Grand Island combo is getting a fresh-onto-the-dial FM sister – KKJK-FM — in the Grand Island-Kearney NE market, courtesy of seller Community Radio Inc. The price is a healthy $1.15M.

The buyer is Legacy Communications LLC, headed by Joseph Jay Varicek. He’ll deposit a large percentage of the purchase price upfront, amounting to $850K, and pay the remainder in cash at closing.

The Rocker KKJK-FM, licensed to Ravenna NE, will team up with News-Talk KRGI-AM and Country KRGI-FM, both licensed to Grand Island. There’s another station in the vicinity, KRGY-FM Aurora NE, which is considered to be just outside the market’s boundaries.
