Letterman paying staff directly

WGA STRIKE CENTRAL: DAY 15

Speaking of the strike affecting show staffers, last week, Letterman told his entire staff he plans to continue paying them directly from his production company, Worldwide Pants, at least until the end of the year. He’s reportedly paying them on a sliding scale, with the highest earners receiving a percentage of their pay, and the lowest receiving their full pay.

LA Weekly reported CBS ceased paying Letterman’s production company on 11/5. And yes, Worldwide Pants employees are getting paid. However, most of the technical crew for the Late Show and Late Late Show are CBS employees.
