WASA-LP is expected to be ready to bring Liberman Broadcasting’s TV Network into the heart of the New York City market by early Q3. The $6M acquisition of the Port Jervis Channel 25 station gives the group entrée into DMA #1, and will add complete its collection of televisions in four of the top five Hispanic media markets, along with Los Angeles, Houston and Dallas.
RBR/TVBR observation: The Liberman m.o. is to operate television AND radio in its markets, as it does in the other three mentioned above. It will be interesting to see it at the very least the company tries to shake loose some niche properties to develop a dual-broadcast platform in New York.
