Lifetime hopes this comedy Rocks

Calling it “a significant expansion of original programming,” Lifetime Television announced an order for 13 episodes of the half-hour comedy “Rita Rocks” from Media Rights Capital. The cable network plans to debut the series this fall as part of a one-hour comedy block with reruns of “Reba.”

In the series, Nicole Sullivan (of “The King of Queens” and “MADtv”) stars as Rita Clements, unfulfilled by her harried life as a married working mom, but who regains her identity by recreating her glory days as a musician in a garage band. Co-stars include Richard Ruccolo ("Two Guys and a Girl") and Tisha Campbell-Martin ("My Wife and Kids").

"Rita Rocks" is produced by Media Rights Capital for Lifetime Television. Stan Zimmerman and Jim Berg, Jeffrey Hodes and Nastaran Dibai are executive producers. Franco E. Bario is producer.
