Limbaugh challenges MSNBC

Conservative radio talkmeister Rush Limbaugh thinks they have a format over at cable news channel MSNBC – and that format is Rush Limbaugh. He’s challenged them to go a month without him being mentioned. Meanwhile, another conservative talkmeister is going after Limbaugh.

Limbaugh claims he is the fodder upon which MSNBC attempts to build its own ratings. According to Politico.com, Limbaugh said, “Throughout the busy broadcast day, MSNBC cannot go an hour without mentioning me or playing video of me or having me discussed. I challenge you, MSNBC! Thirty days without anything mentioning me. No video of me, no guests commenting on me. See if you can do it.” He wants to see it the network can survive “one its own.”

Meanwhile, Michael Savage is calling Limbaugh a phony. Huffington Post quoted Savage as saying, “Limbaugh has turned out to be the biggest phony of all of them, all of them. Amongst all of them, he is the biggest fraud. Rush Limbaugh is a fraud. When he was accused of the drug usage, I supported him. But that man is a one-way street. It’s all about him. He’s in it for nobody but himself.”

The reason? Limbaugh is not defending Savage in his battle with Great Britain, which recently barred Savage from entering the nation for being an alleged purveyor of hate speech. Savage feels that his support for Limbaugh in times of stress is going unrequited.

RBR/TVBR observation: One thing is for sure – Mr. Limbaugh has not lacked for free publicity since Barack Obama won the presidency.
