Limbaugh to dance and sing in Chicago

“Rush Limbaugh! The Musical” is set to debut in a few weeks at the famed Second City Theater in Chicago. But while Illinois’ disgraced governor played himself in the troupe’s previous “Rod Blagojevich Superstar!,” don’t expect to see El Rushbo himself on stage.

Actor Mark Sutton has been cast as Limbaugh in the musical comedy by Ed Furman and T.J. Sanoff, who also created the Blago production. According to the online ticket pitch, the show “takes us back to Rush’s humble beginnings and follows his ascent to conservative dominance buoyed by characters like Ann Coulter, Karl Rove, and Donald Rumsfeld despite confrontations with Hillary Clinton and Barney Frank. The score for the show will feature a pastiche of Broadway musicals such as Spring Awakening, Wicked, and Rent.  You can call it ‘Dispirit of the Radio’.”

A ticket will set you back $25. The first performance is January 31st, with the official opening February 3rd. Plans are to run through March 24th.
