Listeners asked to pick “Most Caring Radio Station”

As the Children’s Miracle Network runs its annual radiothon to raise money to fight childhood diseases, it’s asking listeners to vote in “The Search for North America’s Most Caring Radio Station.” The life insurance company Foresters is kicking in to make a cash award.

The radio station won’t keep the cash, but it will have $50,000 added to its total at the end of the four-week radiothon, which will benefit its local children’s hospital partner. Some 340 stations across the US and Canada are participating in the annual fundraising effort for the charity which raises funds for more that 170 children’s hospitals. The radiothon, and the voting on the Children’s Miracle Network website, run from Monday, January 18th through Friday, February 11th.

Foresters, by the way, is contributing a lot more than the $50,000. It will provide more than $6 million over the next four years to underwrite the costs of the radiothon program so that all money raised during the radiothon will remain with the local hospitals.
