Binnie to buy Nassau New England stations

GavelLPTV-owning businessman Bill Binnie will walk away with more than two dozen radio stations after the completion of round two of the Nassau Broadcasting bankruptcy auction.

According to the Concord Monitor, Binnie’s Carlisle Capital Group earlier offered $12.5M for some 30 stations, mostly in New Hampshire and Vermont. And that turns out to be the winning bid this time around.

Binnie owns WBIN in Derry NH, and Shapiro is said to own a company called Vertical Capital Partners, as well as radio stations in the region’s Upper Valley.

New Hampshire Association of Broadcasters executive director Jordan Walton told the Monitor that it was good to see locals at the forefront of the bidding.
