They were found dead from gunshot wounds in a hotel room in Scottsdale 1/4.  Police said they were found with a note that indicated no one else was involved in the deaths. Phoenix media outlets are describing it as a suicide note. Heywood spent 15 years with KOY-AM. He also worked four stints on KTAR-AM, as well as a morning show on KFYI-AM with Heidi Foglesong that was dropped in 2003. In 2005, he returned to KTAR-AM to take over the Saturday morning news show, his last regular spot with the station.

His wife Susan (right, in photo) was an advertising and marketing exec.

Susan was Bill’s agent and they had a very close marriage. Of late, she had been in poor health. The Heywoods were reportedly being heavily confronted financial hardships and had filed bankruptcy in August 2009. They had lost their area home to foreclosure two years ago.
