Next Sunday’s series finale of “Lost” on ABC will, after all, be eligible to be nominated for various Emmy Awards. The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Board of Governors has approved an exception to the two-hour limit. The finale of Lost is set to run 30 minutes beyond that.

It is not the first time that the Emmy folks have granted exceptions to the rules. The waiver approved Wednesday evening means that the Lost finale will be eligible for acting, directing and other individual honors

Nominations for the 62nd annual primetime Emmy Awards will be announced on July 8th. The awards ceremony will air August 29th on NBC.
