White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs has assured the world that whenever the State of the Union address is held, it will not be at the same time scheduled for the opening episode of the last season of ABC’s Lost, scheduled for 2/2/10.
SOTU generally is scheduled late in January and runs from 9PM-11PM eastern time, and the conventional wisdom had it penciled in for 1/26/10, until the rumor came out hot and heavy that it might move back to 2/2/10, and into conflict with Lost, to give Congress time to finish hatching the egg containing the health reform bill.
According to the Washington Post, ABC reporters asked about it no less than three times, and were assured by Gibbs that Lost was safe – he said they could quote “a senior administration official.”
