SoldThe CW affiliate serving the Louisville KY DMA – WBKI-TV Campbellsville KY – is going to be the lone television station on the portfolio of a radio group.


The buyer is LM Communications, headed by Lynn Martin, who has a dozen stations serving Lexington KY Charleston SC and Charleston-Huntington WV.

Martin stated, “I believe WBKI has tremendous unrealized potential and I plan to explore and utilize all opportunities available to me to elevate WBKI into a much stronger TV station that it’s traditionally been.” According to reports, he believes that an attentive local owner will be able to produce better results than the station has been enjoying of late.

The seller is Louisville TV Group. Among those with a stake are PLLW, headed by Paul Libovitz; Fusion Communications, headed by David McAnally and Jeff Lyle; and Pegasus, headed by Barbara Laurence. Laurence had been brought on earlier in a management contract that $20K monthly.

Although no price was announced in the current deal, Libovitz and McAnally paid $1.6M for it pursuant to terms of a 5/1/09 contract.
