Lyle Romine dead at 59


Veteran agriculture broadcaster Lyle Romine has lost his battle with cancer. The American Ag Network reported that he died Thursday at his home in Hickson, ND, south of Fargo.

Romine began a long broadcasting career nearly 40 years ago at KDLR-AM in his home town of Devils Lake, ND.  In l981 he joined Ag America, a regional agriculture radio network based in Fargo, ND.  In 1986 it merged with the American Ag Network. Romine was a member of the National Association of Farm Broadcasters for over 25 years.

The network said a private memorial will be held at a later date.

The American Ag Network, based in Fargo, ND, has affiliates throughout North Dakota and South Dakota.
