Mack and Bono Mack may be seeking TV gig

It wasn’t the sour economy that separated Connie Mack and Mary Bono Mack from their jobs, at least no directly – it was the voters. Both lost elections this year, but now they may be shopping themselves as America’s next political talk show duo.

Both are Republicans.

Connie Mack abandoned his seat in the Florida US House of Representatives delegation to run for the Senate, only to lose to incumbent Bill Nelson (D-FL).

Mary Bono Mack (R-CA) lost her re-election bid in her district.

So both are in the market for a new job – and some are speculating that they may be having an eye on a television gig, since they have been spotted on the tube on several occasions as of late.

According to an article in The Desert Sun, they are considering either being frequent commentators or getting their own show. The Sun quoted Mack, who said, “It is something that we have talked about, that if the opportunity were to arise that we would certainly consider. What makes us an interesting fit in this is we’re both Republicans but we have different voting records and we come to our decisions about policy and politics differently. … I think that could be interesting to a lot of people.”

RBR-TVBR observation: There is of course a full circle Voteelement to this. Bono Mack was of course married to former pop star and California Rep. Sonny Bono (R-CA) – she filled his seat in Congress after his untimely death. And Sonny Bono was famous for sharing his own television career with his spouse.
