ABC reported that a threatening letter with white powder in the envelope was found Friday evening at the production offices of “Dancing with the Stars.” The studio was evacuated, but the substance was determined to be harmless.
The FBI and local police and fire departments responded to the CBS Studios, where DWTS is broadcast live on Mondays and Tuesdays. The investigation continues, but the white power was determined to be talcum.
The FBI has not confirmed reports that the threatening letter was directed at Bristol Palin, one of the three finalists of the DWTS competition and daughter of 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin. The gossip site TMZ.com reported that its sources said the envelope was addressed to Palin at the show.
