WGA STRIKE CENTRAL: DAY 22

Some 4,000 striking WGA members, fellow union members and locals marched a mile long down Hollywood Blvd. during the WGA’s Labor Solidarity rally last week. Alicia Keys performed at the event. Said John Bowman WGA negotiating committee Chairman to the studio chiefs: "You have an enormous strategic advantage online-us, your writers. We are your partners, and together, we’ll conquer the Internet. Pay us and we’ll shut up and go back to work. Let’s get this done by Christmas."

In NYC last week, the WGA drew some 200 supporters to a rally at Sony Plaza on Madison Avenue-despite cold temps and rain. The chant: "We’re wet, we’re cold, but we’re not gonna fold" was heard up and down the street and in offices.

Attendees included Paul Haggis, Julianna Margulies, Chris Elliott, Gilbert Gottfried, Robert Klein and Seth Meyers, along with members of the writing staffs of Letterman, Conan O’Brien, Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report.
