Making census of it all

The US Census Bureau has some new racial numbers out, so let’s take a look. The total US population is pegged at 301.6M. Non-Hispanic whites still make up the majority, with 199.1M individuals. Minority groups obviously total slightly more than 100M. Hispanics are the largest group, at 45.5M, followed by Blacks at 40.7M, Asians at 15.2M, American Indians/Alaska Natives at 4.5M, and Native Hawaiians/Pacific Islanders at 1M. Hispanics and Asians are the fastest growing groups, at 3.3% and 2.9% respectively.
