Mancow to simulcast on TV in Chicago

MancowTRN-syndicated Erich “Mancow” Muller will be simulcasting his morning show on WPWR-TV 50 beginning this fall. A deal is being finalized, according to The Chicago Tribune.

The live studio broadcast will air weekdays from 6 a.m.-8 a.m., displacing the Fox O&O station’s current lineup of infomercials and “Better TV,” a nationally syndicated lifestyle show.

Muller, whose popular “Morning Madhouse” show ended its 12-year Chicago run in 2006, airs on some 25 stations nationwide.  Mancow airs locally on WJJG-AM 1530. However, ratings at the station scored a 0.0 in the latest Arbitrons–likely because it airs with only 760 watts and may not cover the entire Chigagoland area effectively.

Muller has also done several recent guest hosting stints on Merlin Media’s FM News 101.1 (WIQI-FM).  Fox executives are expected to make a formal announcement about the new TV deal within the next few weeks, reports The Tribune.
