Stock prices closed mixed on Wednesday, as the Federal Reserve said “economic activity has continued to pick up and that the deterioration in the labor market is abating.” But the Fed said it would keep interest rates low for an extended period and it expects economic activity to “remain weak for a time.” The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 11 points, or 0.1%, to 10,441, but the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were slightly higher for the day. Broadcast stocks were also among the gainers.
The RBR Radio Index was up 0.739, or 0.4%, to 199.149, its high for the year.
The TVBR Television Index was up 1.258, or 1%, to 123.666, also a high for the year.
