Broadcast Electronics' Marti Electronics announced the availability of a CDMA version of its Digital Cellcast remote unit for wireless use in service areas covered by Verizon, Alltel, US Cellular, Sprint and other regional carriers.
With this capability, the mixer and cellphone unit for remote broadcasts increases its cellular operating footprint to the majority of the US.
"A CDMA Cellcast gives our broadcasters a lot more choices as to where they can hold remotes and still maintain top quality broadcasts," said Rex Niekamp, Marti Director Transport Delivery Products.
Cellcast was introduced it as an alternative for broadcasting from remote locations where landlines are nonexistent or where line-of-sight access to the studio isn't possible for RF RPU operation.
