The candidates for the seat of the late Ted Kennedy (D-MA) are not holding back when it comes to final day advertising. But interested parties on both sides are spending even more in the final days before the matter is put to a vote.

According to a report in the Washington Post, Martha Coakley (D-MA) and Scott Brown (R-MA) are combining for over $4M in spending.

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee is kicking in $1.4M, according to the report. That amount is unanswered by the Republican National Senatorial Committee.

But other groups are also active in the state, buying advertising for in support of both candidates.

According to the Post, the amount being spent in the final weeks of the campaign is closing in on $10M. The bulk of the cash is going to television.
