Max Media hanging around for windfall after sale

Democrat and RepublicanEugene Loving’s Max Media may be giving its Montana television station group a fond farewell kiss, but it isn’t entirely saying good-bye just yet. Buyer Cowles Media will share the 2014 political bounty earned by the stations with the seller.

Max has outposts in six markets along with a collection of translators in the group it’s sending to Cowles. The application and contract have been at the FCC since 10/1/13 but have been hidden there due to the government shutdown.

We learned that the Kalil-brokered deal is potentially worth $21.5M.
