By happy coincidence, McCain Foods has been seeing its name in the media quite a bit over the past year, and it’s only going to heat up further. They have no relationship whatsoever with the Republican presidential candidate, but that won’t stop them from trying to work the situation to their advantage. They are running a McCain potato for president, kicking off with a USA Today ad. They’re planning to follow up by sending Frank Caliendo out on the campaign trail, impersonating John McCain, and campaigning for McCain potatoes, looking to score radio interviews, as well as getting exposure on satellite outlets. They will also make sure footage makes it onto popular internet video outlets.
