McMahon uses WWE in latest campaign ad

Linda McMahon isn’t trying to run away from her previous role as CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment as she campaigns to be the next US Senator from Connecticut. In her latest campaign ad the Republican nominee even shows clips from wrestling shows

“Before I decided to run for the Senate, I had a regular job,” McMahon says before some shots of wrestlers in action are shown. “OK, maybe not a regular job,” she concedes. McMahon called WWE “a soap opera that entertains millions every week.”

And now the shocker – she admits that pro wrestling is staged! Who knew?

“That isn’t real, but our problems are,” McMahon says as she begins her pitch for the people of Connecticut to send her to Washington. Touting her plan to cut spending, cut taxes and adopt a balanced budget amendment, McMahon warns against sending “another big-government politician to Washington,” an apparent reference to the Democratic nominee, Richard Blumenthal, the current Attorney General of the state. Both are seeking the seat being vacated by the retirement of Sen. Chris Dodd (D-CT).
